Navajo weaving featuring single Yei figure, holding a sacred plant and surrounded by birds.
Minor condition issues on the top edge where the selvedge is partially broken in one place and the weft is broken though stable.

The term Yei derives from the word Yeibicheii meaning the Holy People. The Navajo Yei Spirit who mediates between humans and the Holy Spirit. Navajo Yei (Yeii) spirits, or deities, are believed to control elements such as the rain, snow, wind and sun and control the night and day.
