Frank Patania lidded sterling monogramed silver box with the initials FH. Signed with the thunderbird hallmark with Sterling below, which is the earliest mark used (late 1930's) by Patania Sr. for his Thunderbird shop, which opened in 1927, in Santa Fe, NM. According to his son Frank Patania Jr, he didn't think hallmarking his work was important at first but eventually decided to create this first of several variations of his mark.
